UPDATE – 3/5/2020
Over the past few days, we have been looking for a way we could hold the annual March Milwaukee Meet in the context of the current COVID-19 virus outbreak here in the Seattle area.
As evidence mounts that the virus is quietly spreading throughout the community, we cannot envision a way we can hold this event that adequately protects the health of attendees. While vigorous hand washing and other good hygiene practices can stifle the spread of the virus, complete compliance cannot be guaranteed. Given that many of our attendees fall within the age demographic most affected by the virus, we don’t want to risk the health of our friends and supporters. We are cancelling this event.
We will look for another opportunity to hold the Meet later in the year. Stay tuned.
The annual March Milwaukee Road Meet is a gathering for slides, movies and discussion and socializing. All are welcome! As in the past, this is a free event. Bring your photos, artifacts, models, memorabilia and other items for display.
The event is sponsored by Cascade Rail Foundation and the Coast Division of the Milwaukee Road Historical Association. We will be meeting at Pacific Northwest Railroad Archive (PNRA), where Cascade Rail Foundation is a member organization. It is also the home of the Boeing Employees Model Railroad Club.
This is your chance to get together and see some photos and presentations by some of the renowned Milwaukee Road photographers and historians in the Pacific Northwest.
This year we will be celebrating the centennial of the Coast Division electrification, formally inaugurated on March 5, 1920.
Our presenters include Dale Sanders and former substation operator Frank Zellerhoff.
