Please join us the first two Saturdays in May (May 2 and 9) as we work to clean up the interior of the substation in South Cle Elum to prepare for public tours. These work parties will be an excellent opportunity to have full access to the substation interior. Future public tours will be limited to a narrow pathway through the building.
The primary work planned inside the substation will be moving material stored there and setting up the pathway for the tour. If we have time, we will also work on cleaning up the grounds around the substation and other parts of the rail yard. Exterior work will primarily be vegetation removal.
The work parties will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hard hats (provided by CRF) will be required and you will need to sign the volunteer log book for insurance purposes. Bring your own lunch or dine at Smokey’s BBQ in the depot.
