Limited Edition T-shirt Fundraiser!

For two weeks, through Sunday, June 28, we are selling this limited edition t-shirt to establish a fund for South Cle Elum Rail Yard improvements.

Superdome tshirt fundraiser

This new fund would be used for projects too large for Cascade Rail Foundation to pursue with its normal income, but smaller than major capital projects like the ongoing fundraising to bring Milwaukee Road General Electric U25B locomotive 5057 to the Interpretive Center.

One such project we have in mind is the the acquisition of a Milwaukee Road box car to be used as an exhibit and also as storage.  Box cars like the one below were unique to the Milwaukee Road.  They were commonly seen on the railroad here in Washington and also roamed the country delivering freight.  A car like this, restored to how it looked while in service on the Milwaukee Road, would be an interesting exhibit and could also free up space in the substation.  This would not only make the substation more inviting for public tours, but it would prepare the building for future rehabilitation work.  Purchasing a box car like this, restoring it, and moving it to the Rail Yard would probably cost $15,000 to $20,000.

To purchase a shirt, go to our page on Booster.com.  You can order your shirt there and, if we sell the minimum number of shirts (about 15), they will make the shirts after our fundraiser ends then send them to you directly.  Our goal is to sell 100 shirts, but if we sell more we can get closer to funding a project like the one described above.

Once these shirts are gone, they’re gone!  Please order one today.  And tell your friends!!!
