1. Be A Volunteer!mmmmmm

There are many roles for volunteers among the Friends, with a wide range of skills.  Our ranks include architects, draftsmen, electrical and plumbing experts, hazmat specialists, historians, craftsmen, fund-raisers, business planners, educators and laborers, among others.

Signal can be found at the Iron Horse Inn Bed and Breakfast.
Much of our organizational and planning work is accomplished via e-mail.  Business meetings are held in conjunction with work parties at the South Cle Elum site.  If you're within easy driving distance of South Cle Elum, join us for a work party.  Work parties take place every four to six weeks from spring
to fall.  We tackle everything from cleanup to construction.  Tools are
largely provided by Washington State Parks and Recreation, and we work
safely and sanely, while having a lot of fun.  Our work is covered by a
volunteer liability agreement with Washington State Parks and
Recreation.  If you wish to volunteer, contact our Volunteer Personnel
Coordinator Ray Horton by mailto:rhorton@lclark.edu and he'll send
you a volunteer sign-up form.

2. Help Us LOBBY!mmmmmm

A key part of our work is helping secure Washington State Legislature
financial support for rehabilitation of the depot and substation.  From
time to time, you will be asked to contact your legislators to encourage
their support of appropriations for Washington State Parks.  If you
would like to participate in this, contact our Volunteer Development
Coordinator Donovan Gray by mailto:grayd@ix.netcom.com.  He'll add you
to a separate electronic list to receive information on our legislative
efforts.

3. Donate Milwaukee Artifacts!mmmmmm

We are building a sizable historic collection of Milwaukee equipment,
documents, models (yes, there will be a Cascade Mountains model railroad
in Cle Elum some time in the future) for eventual display and
interpretation.  If you would like to donate something to the
collection, contact our Volunteer Museum Curator Ray Horton rhorton@lclark.edu

4. Help Out Financially!mmmmmm

The Friends of the South Cle Elum Depot invite you to join in supporting
our efforts to establish a major rail interpretive site at the South Cle
Elum yard.  Your contribution will be used to help rehabilitate the
depot and substation and establish a significant museum for public
enjoyment.  All contributions include a year's membership in the
Northern Kittitas County Historical Society and are tax-deductible to
the extent provided by current rules of the Internal Revenue Service.
The Friends of the South Cle Elum Depot operates under a fiscal
management agreement with the Northern Kittitas County Historical
Society, a Washington state non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt
organization.
